May 27 - Jun 15, 2010:

Comfortably settling in Africa (Cape Town and surroundings, wine country, Paternoster)


Jun 16 - Jul 12, 2010:

Quick-n-long loop (5200km in 25 days) around the eastern half of South Africa in rental car while awaiting TianMa’s arrival from Argentina


Jul 13 - 22, 2010:

Reuniting with TianMa in Port Elizabeth and fixing it up for the tough journey ahead while enjoying South Africa’s Garden Route


Jul 23 - Aug 2, 2010:

Back to Cape Town and up the west coast of South Africa


Aug 3 - 23, 2010:

Up and down Namibia’s dirt tracks and deserts (Fish River Canyon, Namib-Naukluft, Swakopmund, Skeleton Coast,  Twyfelfontein, Etosha Pan, Caprivi Strip)


Aug 24 - Sep 14, 2010:

Relaxing across Zimbabwe - Victoria Falls, Lake Kariba, Bulawayo, Matopos Park, Great Zimbabwe Ruins, Mutare and the Eastern Highlands


Sep 15 - Oct 6, 2010:

Central and northern Mozambique (Zalala beach, Gurue, Mozambique Island, Chocas beach, the scenic road west to Malawi)


Oct 7 - 29, 2010:

Malawi time - Monkey Bay, Lilongwe, Lake Malawi remote getaways (Ruarwe and Chizumulu island), Nkhata Bay, Nyika National Park, Chitimba


Oct 30 - Dec 15, 2010:

In Tanzania - Dar es Salaam (3 different times), the wonderful beaches south of Dar, failed but fun attempts to reach Kilwa, the Usumbara mountains, Tanga & surrounding beaches, Pemba Island


Dec 16, 2010 - Jan 2, 2011:

Fast and rewarding “diagonal” drive through Kenya (Mombasa beaches, Tsavo East National Park, Machakos, Nakuru, Lakes Bogoria and Baringa)


Jan 3 - Feb 3, 2011:

One month in Uganda/last month in Africa - Jinja, Kampala, Murchison Falls National Park, sights around Bigodi forest, Lake Bunyonyi, back to Kampala to sell TianMa and wrap up of our African travels
